Stafac is an anti-infective for use in swine feeds to control swine dysentery. By maintaining a healthy balance of bacteria in the intestinal environment, Stafac improves feed efficiency and rate of weight gain in pigs. Stafac has no withdrawal requirement.

Stafac selectively controls the intestinal microflora, sparing beneficial bacteria which can improve nutrient digestion and availability. The nutrient-sparing effects of Stafac have been observed in studies.
Stafac selectively controls the intestinal microflora, preventing the bacterial breakdown and use of essential amino acids, as well as energy-containing monosaccharides such as glucose. This can result in a significant nutrient-sparing effect, as well as an energy-sparing effect. Ultimately, fewer units of critical nutrients per unit of feed are required, leading to significant savings in feed formulation costs.
